‘ACE’ awards handed out to Lowndes County students

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Lowndes County students that are overcoming obstacles to make the grade in the classroom are honored today.

A student from every public and private school in the county received the Accepting the Challenge of Excellence Award.

ACE awards are handed out each year by the Exchange Club of Columbus.

The overall winner of the Youth of the Year Award went to Chloe Draper of Columbus High.

Tierra Ledbetter, also a Columbus High student, was the overall ACE Award winner.

In all, 14 students received recognition today.
