Future entrepreneurs compete for thousands of dollars

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- Budding entrepreneurs at Mississippi State compete in a contest that might remind you of Shark Tank.

The Start Up Summit allows students to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges with the hopes of winning a whopping $30,000 to get a jump start on their business.

They have five minutes to make their pitches then they’re hammered with questions by judges who then pick the winners.

Organizers say this gets them set ahead of graduation.
