Dozens march in Stations of the Cross in Starkville
STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)- This Good Friday, dozens of people walked in the Stations of the Cross.
The yearly event is a representation of the last steps of Jesus before his crucifixion.
People marched from the First United Methodist Church and ended at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
Along the way, they stopped at 12 locations and sang hymns and prayed.
Several different churches and denominations were a part of the event.
One woman said the Stations of the Cross has a powerful meaning.
“I have done this in Brazil for many, many years and it is the Stations of the Cross and it means a lot to march the steps of Jesus because he has done a lot for us and it is the minimum that I can do at this time of the year,” said Rosangela Sebba.
In all, about 200 people took part in this year’s Stations of the Cross.
