Itawamba Community College Foundation Holds Annual Benefit Concert

ITAWAMBA, Miss. (WCBI) – An annual concert was held on Sunday, to benefit the Itawamba Community College Foundation and future students.

The Itawamba Community College Foundation provides scholarships to students and the concert is one of the group’s largest events.

It took place at the Davis Event Center on the school’s campus.

Some area high school seniors received scholarships to the community college, thanks to some of the biggest names in Bluegrass Gospel music.

Different groups performed on stage during the concert.

“It’s a great opportunity to provide scholarships for our students. Our foundation is an integral part of our college and fundraising. This is really our largest fundraising event for the foundation and so this is an important part as a way we provide scholarships to our students,” says Itawamba Community College President Jay Allen.

Allen says the Itawamba Community College Foundation gives out 75 scholarships a year.

This annual event raises around $50,000 dollars.
