Actress Octavia Spencer Buys Black Panther Screenings In Jackson

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Actress Octavia Spencer, famous from The Help, Hidden Figures and the Shape of Water, has endeared herself to Mississippians further after announcing to fans she kept her promise.

That promise, to buy out multiple screenings for the upcoming Marvel Film, Black Panther, in the Magnolia State’s capital city.

The actress made the announcement this morning via social media.

In the post Spencer says she’s purchased the 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. screenings on February 17, as well as a small popcorn and drink.

The Alabama native asks her followers to spread the word to families low on funds, so they can join in on the screening.

Director Tate Taylor and Producer John Norris also purchased a screening in Natchez.
