Alabama Authorities Confirm ID Of Bodies Found In Shallow Graves
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) – The remains of two people found buried in shallow graves have been identified as missing Walker County couple.
Chief Deputy Coroner Bill Yates tells al.com (http://bit.ly/2dKdmRu ) that Duston “Dusty” Turner and Jennifer Phillips were identified through their fingerprints.
The couple had been missing for more than two weeks. They were last seen at their home in Quinton on Sept. 14.
Volunteer searchers made the grisly discovery Saturday while searching a wooded area in western Jefferson County. The sheriff’s office said the volunteers were combing an area near where the couple’s cell phones were last used.
Authorities have not released a cause of death, but foul play is suspected.
