Video: Amory Police Unveils New K-9 Unit

AMORY, Miss. (WCBI)- After a private donation, 5 thousand miles of travel and 5 weeks of training, Amory P.D. has introduced their new canine unit..

Coale, an almost 2 year old German Shepard Sable from Budapest, Hungary, was trained in Tupelo.

As the only patrol dog in the department, Coale will assist with search and rescue, drug intervention, apprehension and many other tasks.

The donor, Edward Coale, was glad to help and is honored by the dog’s naming.

Mr. Coale says, “It brought tears to my eyes. I’m all choked up now. I mean, it’s an honor. It really is, it made me very proud.”

His handler, Corporal Dawn McClendon said that although he’s a loving dog, Coale is as tough as they come.
