Annual Best Warrior Competition
COLUMBUS, Miss.(WCBI) – The Mississippi National Guard hosts it’s annual Best Warrior competition this week.
11 soldiers competed for the titles of Soldier of the Year and Non-commissioned Officer of the Year.
Competitors were tested in a wide range of categories including battle drills, physical tests, written exams, warfare simulations and board interviews, just to name a few.
Starkville native and 2015 Soldier of the Year, Sargent Ethan Scott, competed for Non-commissioned Officer of the Year, this go round.
“If anybody has a chance to do this competition, do it. You get to learn a lot about yourself and what you need to know. Also, how to be a better soldier and how to give orders and take orders,” said Scott.
The 4 day event concluded Thursday. Winners will be announced today at the awards banquet held in Jackson.
