Arrest Made In Lowndes County School Threat Investigation

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An arrest is made in the New Hope social media threat scare.

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office announced in a press release today, March 26, that an arrest had been made.

Since the suspect is a juvenile, no names have been released.

The suspect will face a Cyberstalking charge with more possible.

Chief Deputy Marc Miley says several interviews were conducted and forensic analysis was performed on numerous devices, building up enough evidence to make the arrest.

Earlier in the investigation, law enforcement sent a subpoena to Facebook to get information from the site.

The single threat started circulating on social media February 25.

A number of juveniles were interviewed about the post, with more arrests possible.
