Atlanta Tries To Get Back To Normal In Wake Of Cyberattack
ATLANTA (AP) – Atlanta city employees have been advised to turn on their computers and printers for the first time since a cyberattack hit the city’s network last week.
A city news release said Tuesday that some computers are expected operate normally but others may still be affected by the ransomware attack that was announced last Thursday.
The city said turning on computers is part of its restoration and recovery process after the attack got into the network and encrypted some city data.
The city said email and some other systems were also back up and running.
The city has continued to operate in the wake of the attack, though some city services have been suspended and others have been slow because city workers have to do things manually.
