Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle Hosts Open House

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- The Baptist Memorial Hospital held an open house this morning to showcase a training facility that will house EMCC’s Paramedic and Surgical Technology Programs.

In February, Baptist offered the use of one of their buildings when officials at EMCC explained there was no space available at the college for a new program.

Since then, hospital officials have equipped classrooms, supplied computers and labs, and provided a mini operating room at the training facility.

Janan Rush, EMCC’s program director, talked about the importance of this new facility.

“It’s very important because it’s a high demand for surgical techs in the Baptist system and as well as the Golden Triangle. It’s a very need a big neEd for the students in this area.”

The programs for EMCC will begin in January.
