Bond denied for 4 suspects in fatal Thanksgiving Eve shooting

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – There are new developments in the Thanksgiving Eve shooting that left a Columbus teen dead.

Tuesday night, a fifth arrest was made in the shooting death of LaBronze Moore.

24-year-old Rufus Lee Neal III turned himself in to Columbus police. He was being charged with murder.

It was the second major development in the evolving case. Bond was denied for four other suspects in Moore’s death.

17-year-olds, Johnny Coleman, Rasheed Neal, and Kenzel Guyton along with 18-year-old Travaris Laquond Mixon Jr, had their initial appearance in Columbus Municipal Court.

All four of the teens are charged with murder in the shooting death of  Moore, who was shot at a convenience store at the intersection of North McCrary Road and Forrest Boulevard.

He later died from his injuries.

The investigation remains active, and there could be more arrests.
