Booneville traffic stop turns into counterfeit money bust

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A routine traffic stop in Booneville ended with three men being carried away in handcuffs after police found thousands of dollars in fake money inside their vehicle.

Kevin Daniel Fugitt of Booneville, Timothy Scott Mackin of Corinth, and Michael Ray Carroll of Booneville face charges for being in possession of over $9,000 in fake money.

Inside the vehicle, investigators found multiple fake ID’s belonging to other people, printing equipment including payroll or business type check printing paper, and numerous counterfeit payroll or business type checks from fraudulent accounts.

Carroll is charged with Possession of Methamphetamine in a Correctional Facility and Possession of Counterfeit Bank Notes with Intent to Utter.

His bond was set at $25,000.

Mackin is charged with two counts of Possession of Counterfeit Instruments with Intent to Utter.

His bond was set at $15,000

Carroll is charged with Possession of Counterfeit Bank Notes with Intent to Utter.

He has a bond of $5,000.
