Bulldogs Focused On Slowing Down AJ Brown

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Mississippi State will look to bring the Golden Egg Trophy back to Starkville, Thursday night, and if that’s going to happen, the defense will have to slow down Ole Miss wide receiver AJ Brown.

Brown posted massive numbers in the 2017 Egg Bowl game (6 catches, 167 yards, 1 touchdown), and not many have had success slowing down the SEC’s leading receiver.

In the past four weeks, Brown is averaging eight catches, 152 yards, and has scored two touchdowns.

“I think the better question is, ‘what doesn’t concern you?’, head coach Joe Moorhead said. “There’s a reason why he’s one of the top receivers in the country, and he’ll be drafted really high.”

Mississippi State boasts the second best scoring defense in the nation, allowing only twelve touchdowns on the season, the lowest in the NCAA.
