California moves up its 2020 Democratic primary to Super Tuesday

In 2016, California didn’t hold its presidential primaries until June 7. For 2020, it’ll join the Super Tuesday states on March 3. Melanie Mason of the Los Angeles Times explains why the state’s earlier primary date reflects its inferiority complex when it comes to presidential politics.
