Carjacking suspect in custody after high-speed chase and ground search

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – An accused carjacking suspect is in custody after a high-speed chase and ground search.

James Franklin is in the Oktibbeha County jail.

The carjacking happened near Carthage. A pursuit led state troopers into Oktibbeha County.

Investigators believe Franklin crashed the stolen vehicle on Watt Hill Road.

Highway patrolmen and deputies searched for Franklin throughout the night.

Thursday morning about 6:30, a deputy spotted Franklin walking out of the woods onto Highway 25.

Franklin was arrested without incident.
