Caught on camera: Vandalism to Oxford’s Globe Fountain at Pocket Park

OXFORD, Miss. (WCBI) – Social media helps Oxford police identify the suspects accused of vandalizing the city’s newest park.

Around 1 a.m., two young women reportedly vandalized the Globe Fountain at Pocket Park next to Oxford City Hall.

The city’s newest park was just dedicated last week.

Video surveillance in the area captured the pair as they appeared to be removing the globe from the park’s Globe Fountain.

It also appears that they were part of a larger group.

These pictures and videos were posted on Oxford PD’s social media, and with the help of the public, they have been able to identify the suspects.

Damages to the fountain are estimated to be more than $5,000 making this a felony.

The department will be releasing more information when they’ve made arrests in the case.
