COLUMBUS, Miss. — Police say a scrap metal heist leads to a chase and lands two men in jail.

Just before 2 Monday morning, Columbus police responded to a burglary in progress call at Bates Tire Center on Waterworks Road. A gray Ford Taurus fled the area with officers giving chase.

The car wrecked at the intersection of Marvin and Shady streets and the occupants, identified as Anthony McGee and Quadray Styles, took off on foot. Officers ran them down but not before McGee had to be Tasered.

Police found stolen rims and brake disks in the car.

In an unrealated case, Columbus police say 44-year-old Sherry A. Tedford was charged with embezzlement Friday after the B-Quick convenience store on 31st Avenue North reported the possible theft. She faces a December 6th court date.
