Chief Shelton gives update on Columbus shooting victim

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – An update has been given on the victim in a Columbus shooting.

Police Chief Fred Shelton said the victim had surgery and is recovering.

Shelton did not want to identify the person that was shot or the hospital where he is being treated.

The shooting happened Sunday afternoon, near 6th Street and 5th Avenue South.

Investigators are looking for dark gray SUV with tinted windows.
