Choctaw Co. man faces murder charge after allegedly shooting someone with a bow and arrow

CHOCTAW COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A man in Choctaw County faces a murder charge after allegedly shooting a man with an arrow.

Choctaw County Sheriff Brandon Busby told WCBI that deputies responded to an assault report Saturday on Harper Road.

Deputies arrived to find three men had been involved in an altercation.

One of the men, Travis Medders, was taken to a hospital in Memphis after being struck with an arrow, allegedly shot by Joe Whitehead.

Medders later died from his injuries.

Whitehead is now being charged with Second Degree Murder.

He was given a $75,000 bond.

The case is still under investigation.
