Clay County Man Pleads Guilty To Assault Charges

CLAY COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Clay County man will spend the next 5 years in prison for attacking another man with a box cutter.

Jashawon Ross pleaded guilty to Aggravated Assault in the Clay County term of Circuit Court.

Ross was charged with stabbing Reginald Gates in the leg with a box cutter in September 2015.

Judge Lee Coleman sentenced Ross to 10 years in prison, with 5 suspended, plus a $1,200 fine and court costs.
