Cocaine, marijuana, meth, & more seized in Lowndes County drug bust

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- A traffic stop in Lowndes County ends up being much more after investigators find cocaine, ecstasy, meth, among other drugs.

Justin Hill, 39, faces a number of charges including drug possession, trafficking, and the intent to distribute.

The Lowndes County Narcotics Task Force pulled Hill over at the intersection of Highway 45 and 82 Thursday.

During the stop a canine alerted narcotics were in the vehicle. During a search investigators say they found marijuana, powder and crack cocaine, methamphetamine, ecstasy, morphine, and promethazine.

Agents also found a hand gun and cash. The investigation then led agents to a hotel room where they found scales, hand made smoking devices, and a bullet proof vest.

Captain Archie Williams says the task force works diligently to get drugs off the streets.

“For our area we want to do the best we can do. Whether it be the smaller amount, bigger amount, or even bigger amount, any amount is a success. Especially when you get those that are actually putting it on the streets as far as distributing in which this case, some of these charges will be for distribution, even trafficking,” said Williams.

Along with the drug charges, Hill also faces a charge of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
