Video: College Students Gets The Opportunity To Shadow Professionals

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-Local area students interested in careers in the medical field had the opportunity to get a real-life look from the professionals.

OCH Medical Center hosted more than a dozen high school students during its career shadow day.

Participants followed and observed workers in clinical and non-clinical roles at the hospital.

The goal was to showcase the responsibilities and rewards of a career in healthcare.

“Today is really helping me understand what I am getting myself into and what I will be preparing for. It motivated me a lot, showing me what I will be doing; what I would not be doing, the precautions, the safety, the hazards, ” said Jacquesha Harris, student shadow.

The opportunity was open to students on a first come first served basis.
