Columbus Basketball Teams Recognized At Council Meeting
COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- City leaders took a moment to recognize two teams for their season on the court at Tuesday’s city council meeting.
The Columbus High basketball team won the 6A title in Jackson last month.
Heritage Academy, they made it to the semi finals of the MAIS tournament.
Leaders congratulated them for the long, hard season.
Those in uniform also got a huge thanks from the acting superintendent of the Columbus Municipal School District.
In light of recent school shootings and threats being made here at home, security has been beefed up at area schools.
School leaders commended the officers for their efforts in making our schools safer.
