Columbus goes pink for breast cancer awareness

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Wednesday evening dozens in pink met at Columbus City Hall to support those battling breast cancer and survivors.

The city dubbed the evening a “Winning Wednesday” with city hall surrounded by pink balloons and bold pink shirts to celebrate the lives of breast cancer heroes.

October is breast cancer awareness month.

Columbus mayor Robert Smith spoke at the event.

Employees with Baptist Memorial highlighted the importance of getting checked.
