COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Columbus’s Chief Financial Officer is resigning after about a year and a half on the job.

Deliah Vaughn submitted her two-week notice last week.

She was hired in April 2019 to replace Milton Rawle.

Rawle eventually pleaded guilty to one count of embezzlement for stealing city funds.

Vaughn came to Columbus from Tunica County.

Columbus Mayor Keith Gaskin tells WCBI that Vaughn is going to work for the city of West Point.

While someone is hired on an interim basis, Gaskin wants to look at the CFO position to see if it needs to be revamped before a permanent replacement is hired.
