Commissioner Of Higher Education To Retire

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – The governing body for Mississippi’s public colleges and universities will soon be under new management.

Commissioner of Higher Education Dr. Glenn Boyce announced today that he will retire at the end of June.

Boyce has spent nearly 40 years in education, and was appointed as the Commissioner of the State Institutions of Higher Learning in April of 2015.

During his tenure, the university system has experienced record enrollments and record numbers of degrees awarded.

The IHL Board is expected to begin the search for Boyce’s successor soon.
