Committee To Look At Raising Salaries at MSU

MISSISSIPPI STATE UNIVERSITY (WCBI) – A new committee will try to find a solution to an age old problem facing Mississippi State and other schools in our state.

The committee will look for ways to raise faculty salaries to compete with other universities across the Southeast.

Professors at all levels have only received raises in two of the last six years, pushing them farther behind their counterparts.

That makes it harder to attract and keep faculty.

The university has committed $500,000 in each of the next two years for pay raises, and the committee will try to find ways to raise more money and to best allocate resources.
