False alarm: Lafayette County deputies clarify ‘active shooter’ call

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Lafayette County deputies are putting to rest reports of an active shooter.

Deputies were called to a home on County Road 518 on Sunday night about a possible active shooter.

Once they arrived, law enforcement did not find an active shooter and there had not been one at that location.

During the investigation, deputies learned some family members at the home wanted someone removed for allegedly firing a gun and possibly damaging a window days earlier.

More details could be released once the ongoing investigation is wrapped up.
