Fatal Alabama Car Crash

ST. CLAIR COUNTY, AL.(WCBI)- A two-vehicle crash has claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy.

The crash happened at 2:40 pm on July 1st. The child was a passenger in a 1998 Dodge Ram pickup driven by 62-year-old Robert Fleming Dugger of Ashville, Alabama.

The pickup collided with a 2005 Acura driven by 18-year-old Benjamin Majors of Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

The child, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dugger, and two more passengers, were transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Majors and a passenger in the Acura were not injured.

The crash occurred on Interstate 59 near mile marker 156 in the city limits of Springville, Alabama.

Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
