Fire Destroys Apartment

VARDAMAN, Miss. (WCBI) – Several Vardaman residents are homeless tonight, December 8, after fire destroys their apartments.

The fire happened just after midnight at Harrelson Apartments.

Police Chief Kenneth Scott says a tenant woke up to his unit filled with smoke and alerted a neighbor.

By the time firefighters arrived the entire building was fully engulfed in flames.

Three or four people lived at the complex.

The owner has put them up in a hotel and area residents are collecting items for the fire victims.
