Five North Mississippi cities rank high in best places to retire

NORTH MISSISSIPPI, Miss. (WCBI) – A new study found the ten best places to retire in Mississippi.

Five those were right here in North Mississippi.

SmartAsset rated the cities by tax friendliness, recreation and social opportunities for senior citizens and availability of medical care.

Amory landed the number two spot as the best city to retire in the Magnolia State.

Followed by Booneville at number four, the “Friendly City” at number five.

New Albany and Tupelo were ranked at numbers eight and nine.
