Five suspects plead not guilty to the fatal shooting of a Mississippi football player
RANKIN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – More than a year after the fatal shooting of a Mississippi football player, five suspects pleaded not guilty in court today about their involvement in the case.
According to CBS affiliate WJTV News, Ladarious Harrison and Dominick Sabria were each charged with the murder of former Ole Miss and Jackson State football player Idarrious Bowie.
Semiko Crump, Kaylee Trimble, and Michael Mitchell were charged with accessory after the fact of murder.
Mitchell and Trimble both received a $500,000 bond, while a bond was denied for the other three suspects.
The shooting occurred at a home in the 100 block of Adams Road in northern Rankin County at around 6:00 pm on June 5, 2026.
Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey said the victim, Bowie, was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
The sheriff said witnesses reported seeing a small gray passenger car leaving the scene with multiple occupants. Deputies recovered one firearm as part of the investigation. The suspects were later arrested.
The investigation is ongoing.
