Flooding continues to be a concern
LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)- Flooding continues to be a concern in parts of Mississippi.
Locally, high water in places has caused minor flooding, including in the city of Columbus.
Highway 50 in East Columbus has been partially covered in water all day long.
The Luxapallila Creek is expected to peak at minor flood stage later on tonight.
While our area did experience some flooding, the hardest hit areas are in South Mississippi and West Alabama.
Areas from Hattiesburg to Laurel to Meridian still are seeing many road closures tonight.
