Video: Formal Charges Filed In School Gun Case

TUPELO ( WCBI) – Formal charges are now on the books against the man accused of taking a gun onto the Shannon High campus Monday.

Jail records show 69 year old Tommy Locastro is charged with possession of a  weapon on school grounds.   He is free on a $3,500 bond.   The events unfolded when Locastro fond out a family member had been removed from the classroom and sent to youth court.  Locastro went to the high school to confront school officials and showed them the gun.   When he found out the family member was not on campus  he headed to the Lee County Justice Center where youth court offices are located.   Lee County deputies and Tupelo Police were notified Locastro was on the way and he was arrested before he could get inside the court building.
