Former Mississippi State football player sentenced for 2015 burglary

OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A former Mississippi State football player will spend five years in prison.

Justin Cox pleaded guilty to burglary of a dwelling.

An aggravated assault-domestic violence charge was dropped, as part of the plea deal.

Prosecutors say the incidents happened in Oktibbeha County in July 2015.

Cox will be on probation for five years.

He must pay fines and restitution.
