“Get Ready To Run” Program Comes To The Golden Triangle

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – For its 5th year, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi promotes their Get Ready to Run Program and receive a lot of support from the Golden Triangle.

28 Golden Triangle Schools, including Henderson Ward Stewart Elementary, participate in exercises and hear from Blue Cross Blue Shield Representatives on the importance of healthy living.

“We’re teaching them about healthy lifestyle habits, and that’s very important for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Mississippi,” Eugenia King of the Blue Cross Blue Shield continued, “We have a vision of a healthier Mississippi, and we want to encourage these kids to live healthier lifestyle habits. Kids at this age are very impressionable. They are learning things that they can take home and introduce to their younger siblings and even encourage their parents to get out and run.”

Blue Cross Blue Shield is hosting a one mile fun run on April 14th for the Golden Triangle area.

The school with the most kids to apply and cross the finish line will receive $2,000 for the PE program.
