Harrison Memorial Highway Nears Reality

JACKSON, MS (WCBI) –  A stretch of Highway 182 in Columbus is set to be renamed in memory of a long time lawmaker.  The State Legislature today gave final approval for the Esther  Harrison Memorial Highway.

The stretch of Highway 182 between South Martin Luther King Drive and Lehmberg Road would be renamed in memory of Harrison.  Harrison died in 2015 while still holding the House 41 seat she had occupied since 2000.
