High Court Rejects Lowndes County Murder Appeal

JACKSON (WCBI) – The Mississippi Supreme Court has rejected a Lowndes County woman’s bid for a new trial on murder charges.

Chaddy Brooks appealed her second degree murder conviction saying the evidence did not support that charge.  She says she actually tried to turn away before stabbing her boyfriend Danielle Gore in the neck and that move shows she did not show indifference to life which is required for second degree murder;.    The high court said the fact she had no injuries shows she was the agressor.   Brooks is serving a 40 year term on the charge
