Highway shooting injures two in Starkville

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – A shooting on Highway 82, in Starkville, injured two people inside their vehicle.

The gunfire happened between the Highway 25 and Highway 389 exits, just after 2 a.m Saturday.

Starkville police said the victims were going eastbound when their vehicle was shot multiple times.

The car went off the roadway before stopping.

Officers treated the two victims inside the car until an ambulance arrived.

Investigators believed the two victims were traveling through Starkville on their way home to Columbus.

No arrests have been made.

One of the victims was flown to a hospital in the region, the other was taken to OCH.
