Inmate escapes work detail in Noxubee County, search begins

NOXUBEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – An inmate has escaped custody while on work detail in Macon.

Kevin G. Rush didn’t return with the work crew this afternoon and is presumed to be on the loose.

The 37-year-old started a 10 year sentence in November of 2016 for residential and vehicle burglaries in Lowndes County.

Rush is 5’10” and weighs around 200lbs.

Noxubee County Sheriff Terry Grassaree says a grey colored Chrysler 300 was reported stolen and it’s believed Rush may be connected to that auto theft.

Car possibly stolen by inmate.
