JTS Mortgage Minute – Mortgage Rates Beginning to Rise

Mortgage rates continue to rise due to low bond prices and inflation. As bond prices fall, and demand in the bond market drops, interest rates typically rise. Inflation is a general increase in prices and fall in the purchasing value of money and it has a powerful influence on mortgage rates. However, although mortgage rates are trending upward, they still remain at historic lows.
