LCBS passes policy laying out approved uses of parks, rec facilities

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – The Lowndes County Board of Supervisors wanted to make sure that residents were making proper use of the parks.

Supervisors passed a new policy that lays out approved uses for the county’s parks and recreational facilities.

They also included language that allows for unapproved use of those areas to be considered trespassing.

The move came after recent acts of vandalism at the concession stand and bathrooms at the Roger Short Soccer Complex.

The damage was believed to have been caused by a homeless person who was camping out in the facility.

Board President Trip Hairston said that if homeless people are found staying on park grounds they will be referred to agencies that can help them.
