LCSO: Two people now charged in connection to inmate escape

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (PRESS RELEASE) – Two people have now been charged with last night’s escape. 53-year-old Steven Douglas Jennings is charged with Conspiracy to commit a crime – felony and 36-year Phillip Shane House is charged with escape.

On October 31, 2023, Jennings spoke with Terry Leshaun Brooks by phone and helped facilitate Brooks’ and House’s escape from the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center. Jennings has six prior felony arrests and 19 prior Misdemeanor arrests. He is now being held at the Lowndes County Adult Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.

House was the second inmate who was captured before he reached the outer perimeter fence. House is currently in custody for the June 2023 murder of Summer Danielle Tennyson. Terry Leshaun Brooks is still on the run.
