Lemonis: Ginn Out For Season, Allen Undergoes Surgery

STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Mississippi State head baseball coach Chris Lemonis announced Thursday that starters JT Ginn and Tanner Allen have undergone surgery.

Lemonis said Ginn underwent “elbow surgery” and will miss the remainder of the 2020 baseball season. Ginn pitched three innings in his opening day start against Wright State, giving up two runs on three hits, and striking out four. That was the sophomore’s only appearance this season.

Lemonis said the junior outfielder Allen underwent surgery on a broken bone in his hand that he suffered in the weekend series at Long Beach State. Lemonis said, “right now, we don’t have a timetable for him to come back.”

Allen appeared in seven games so far this season, batting .261, with two doubles and four RBI.

Mississippi State (7-4) will host Quinnipiac this weekend.
