Louisville Native Named UAB Head Coach

BIRMINGHAM, Al. (WCBI ) — After two seasons away, Andy Kennedy is back as the newest men’s head basketball coach for the Blazers of UAB.

Kennedy spent the last two seasons serving as an analyst on the SEC Network. However, before that, he spent 12 seasons serving as the head men’s basketball coach at Ole Miss.

The Louisville native won two SEC West Division titles, the 2013 SEC Tournament, berthed two appearances to the NCAA Tournament and earned SEC coach of the year honors in 2017.

Kennedy also played for the Blazers from 1988-1991.
