Lowndes County woman accused of stabbing, hitting husband with saw

LOWNDES COUNT, Miss. (WCBI) – A Lowndes County woman is accused of stabbing her husband in the chest and hitting him with a saw.

Charity Harkins, 28, is charged with Aggravated Assault – Domestic Violence.

The victim told deputies he was sleeping inside a home when Harkins started banging on the door.

Chief Deputy Marc Miley said she broke the glass in the door and went inside.

Her husband was stabbed several times and hit in the head with the saw.

Harkins was charged with Domestic Violence Third Offense in May and on Valentines Day’s she was accused of stabbing the same victim in the abdomen.

She was later charged with Attempted Murder.

Deputies say Harkins has been arrested more than a dozen times over the past several years.
