Lt. Governor Announces “Bridge Act”

JACKSON, Miss. (WCBI) – Building roads, improving development, growing the economy. Those are the ideas driving a more than $1 billion road plan unveiled by Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves today, February 19.

The proposed 5 year program is the Senate’s answer to addressing infrastructure issues in the State.

The so-called “BRIDGE” act would provide a mixture of grants, loans, and other money to cities and counties across Mississippi, and includes roads, bridges, rail, and waterway projects.

Reeves did not release specifics on funding sources, but says that it can be done without raising State taxes.
