Macon woman charged with embezzlement

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- A Macon woman is arrested on an Embezzlement charge in the Friendly City.

Angela Edwards, 44, was arrested Friday in Macon.

Columbus Police were called to a business on Highway 45 North in Columbus.

Chief Shelton says the suspect made duplicate receipts for items then issued refund for items that were not purchased.

So far, over $5,500 of damages is what investigators have estimated.

The suspect is also accused of giving away other items to customers at no charge.

Edwards is in the Lowndes County Detention Center.
