Major Synthetic Marijuana Seizure In Tuscaloosa
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) – Authorities say two men are behind bars after a drug bust at a Tuscaloosa convenience store turned up nearly $200,000 worth of synthetic marijuana and a large amount of cash.
AL.com reports (http://bit.ly/2ec0Rup) 32-year-old Mahfoodh Alawadi and 55-year-old Naseer Al-Labani are jailed on drug trafficking charges.
Tuscaloosa police spokeswoman Lt. Teena Richardson says the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force carried out a search warrant at the store Wednesday, seizing 2,000 4-gram packages of synthetic marijuana and $24,054 in cash.
Richardson said Alawadi is charged with four counts of trafficking in a synthetic controlled substance and unlawful distribution of a synthetic controlled substance.
Al-Labani is charged with trafficking in a synthetic controlled substance.
The men face bonds totaling over a $1 million each.
